Currently, this French fysiology book is already available in its third edition. Not only was the new edition needed due to the many developments and discoveries within breath-hold diving, its superb content would probably played a role too. The content does have some similarities with the American book "The Physiology of Breath-hold Diving" from 1986. Nevertheless where this earlier book exists of separate articles, this updated book has its main strength to presents itself in a more structured content. The book is separated in a couple of chapters. The first chapter consist of a short history, and the next chapters addresses the physiology separated on basis of the area of the body. The last chapter address safety and gives some comments on things that plays a role with medical check-ups. Due to it's scientifically approach, it could be a hard read for people with only a minor knowledge of French and general physiology. Although the structured content, it is still needed to have some basic understanding of biology to grasp the content completely. If the does have the ability to understand it fully, he or she does have the possession of a strong book on this subject and its scientific research.
